Community Events!

A few weekends ago I participated in a memory making event at The Center for Grieving Children. I had so much fun recording stories from people I had never met, some neighbors I do know, a colleague from an old job, tweens, a CGC Board Member, the list goes on.
It was such a reminder that we all need other people, and their stories, to feel more connected, less alone, and like part of something a little bigger than ourselves.
Speaking of community, if you are in the Woodfords Corner area of Portland, Maine come by this Saturday, October 4th from 2-6pm on Grace St (runs between Vannah Ave and Woodford St) for the CornerFest event. It's free, family friendly, and I will be there recording stories in the trailer.

Full disclosure--I now also work part-time for the Friends of Woodfords Corner, the organization hosting the event. I don't make any commission if you attend, I just want you to have a good time with your neighbors.
Fuller disclosure--it takes a community for me to get the trailer anywhere. My husband, neighbors, and friends have all stepped in to help. I don't know how to drive the trailer around. Yet. I am adding it to the list of life skills I have not mastered.
Hope to see you around town!
